The MAC series of brushless servo motors with integrated electronics is a major step forward. All the necessary electronics in a servo motor system are integrated in the servo motor itself.

A traditional servo motor system has in the past typically been based on a central controller unit placed away from the servo motor. This circumstance has the negative effect that the installation cost is a major part of the total expenses in building machinery.

The basic idea in the MAC servo motors is to minimize these costs but also to make a component that is much better protected against electrical noise which can be a typical problem when using long cables between controller and servo motor.

The servo motor, hall effect sensor, encoder and electronics are specially developed by JVL so that they together form a closed unit where the power driver and controller is mounted inside the servo motor in a closed section.

The advantages offered by this integrated servo motor solution are:

  • De-central intelligence.
  • Simple installation. No cables between
    servo motor and driver.
  • EMC safe. Switching noise remains within servo motor.
  • Single or dual supply.
  • Compact. Does not take space in cabinet. Typically a 3/5 core cable is used from PLC or similar to MAC motor.
  • 24 or 48VDC power for MAC50-141, 115/230V for MAC800
  • Low price.

Interface possibilities with the MAC servo motor:

  • From PC/PLC with drive commands via RS232/RS485/RS422
  • Pulse/direction or quadrature inputs.
  • 10 bit (MAC50-141), 12bit (MAC800) ±10V input for speed or torque control. A+B encoder output.
  • Register mode via 4 inputs or serial commands
  • Option for nano PLC built-in with graphical programming tools.
  • Option for Fieldbus. ProfibusDP, Canbus, CANopen, Devicenet, Ethernet, Wireless.
  • Multiaxis operation with up to 255 units on the same 460Kbit RS485 bus.

Brushless servo motor with integrated controller.

All necessary components in one unit.

The MAC servo motors can be delivered in sizes of 50 to 141W, the MAC050 to 141 range, and in a size of 750W, the MAC 800 servo motor.

Adapt your servo motor to your application with Expansion Modules.

The JVL MAC Integrated Servo Motors utilize the unique module concept. Plug-in expansion modules adapt the motor to the application. You can choose connector type: D-Sub, cable glands or M12 connectors and you can choose freely between Profibus, DeviceNet, CANopen or nano PLC control. A High Speed and wireless modules add to the selection. This means that the MAC motor gives you possibilities no other servo motors on the market can provide. Also important, you only pay for what you need. In addition, if you do not find the features you require, please contact us, and we will develop your own customized module.

Servo Motor and Expansion Module selection

Select your servo motor from the detailed selection chart and then select a servo motor group, MAC50-141 or MAC800, on this page and get much more information for your selection.
